After £80,000 of building work and over £40,000 of work donated by residents of Swainby and friends of Swainby Village Hall, the next phase in the story of the hall has begun.
In September 2012, the next phase started following completion of the first phase of the refurbishment of Swainby Village Hall, it was once again business as usual.
Swainby is situated in the picturesque North Yorkshire Moors National Park. Having excellent access to all major routes, being just 15 minutes from Teesside to the north and Thirsk to the south, it is the ideal place to combine business and recreation within beautiful surroundings.
The works which have been carried out in the Village Hall include much improved access to the first floor hall, a new modern fully equipped kitchen, upgrading of the fire safety arrangements and complete redecoration throughout.
The Village Hall Committee is hosted an ‘Official Opening’ on Wednesday the 26th September when County Councillor Caroline Seymour cut the ribbon and declared the premises fully open at 3:30.
There was a well attended reception between 3:00pm and 6:00 pm, which was attended by potential users and residents who saw first hand the improvements which had been made.
Swainby Village Hall was once again available for hire.
On the ground floor there is a small meeting room, with capacity for 15 to 20 people, a large meeting room holding 40 to 50 people and a new fully fitted kitchen with all modern facilities.
On the first floor there is a large hall equipped with a stage and ante-room. The hall can accommodate around 100 people.
Swainby Village Hall is a very attractive venue for business meetings, family celebrations, regular organised activities or as a base for discovering the delights of the surrounding area.
Wi-fi internet access is available throughout the building.
